to write here. How the hell does everyone else do it???
This Saturday is my middle sons birthday, he just turned 12. My kids are a little spoiled, if the 400.00 game system wasn't enough, his dad feels as though he needs an ultra expensive birthday party, blah blah blah, something about them 'being kids only once'.
I was all prepared to do a 'theme' party, because I'm THAT kind of mom. I have the bottled up creative energy just ready to burst at the seems.
Since hes into medieval things, like Harry Potter and Runescape, I was like, 'Lets have a medieval party, complete with a murder mystery game, my older son and his friends dressing up like knights, and complete with a token finding scavenger hunt'. This was met by, 'Seriously mom. Are you kidding?...how about NOT'.
I guess we will just BBQ, get a super slide and other boring stuff.
My kids are funsuckers.

MAN!!! I was right there with you on the medieval party. I had all kinds of images in my head. Then I kept reading and saw that your kids shot down the idea and I was like: What? No? Oh, Okay. and my shoulders started to drop a little each time and I started feeling like a sad puppy.
Damn! No one ever lets us have any fun.
It's always just BBQs, huh?
That's what we are having this weekend for our Birthday too. (Mine, Angel's and his Grandmother's)
Our's is on Sunday.
